Tips to Use Lenovo ThinkPad’s Keyboard
Lenovo laptop’s keyboard contains a row of function key that allows the user to move quickly on the menus and to do many various minor tasks such as adjusting brightness, cut-copy and paste the text, zoom in and zoom out of the window. It has a Num Lock feature with numeric keypad and Alt and Ctrl key to do additional tasks within the documents.
Use of Ctrl key for cut, copy, paste
- X key to Cut the text
- C key to Copy the text
- V key to Paste the text
- A key to select all
- Z to undo the process
- Y to redo the process
To remove the selected text, press and hold the Ctrl button with X.
This can be done when you are browsing something on the internet, working on any software like AutoCAD, Revit, 3Ds Max etc, working on any Word file or presentation.
Save, Print and Delete File
Press and hold the Ctrl key and then press S button to save any document or work on any software or to save the website. To Print any document, webpage, or software work, hold the P button with Ctrl key. It will open the Print window where you can manage the setting for printing document.
To remove any file within an “Open” dialog box, select the file’s name and then hold the Shift key with Delete key. Select Yes button when asks for the confirmation. Doing this will delete the file permanently.
Usage of Windows key
To open the ThinkPad’s Start menu, press the Windows logo button. Use up, down and right arrow buttons on the keyboard to move through the Start menu. If the Lenovo’s mouse is not working then the button on the keyboard can be used to move through the menu.

Press Ctrl button with “+” to zoom in the window and “-“button to zoom out of a website.
Esc button: Use Esc button located on the top-left corner of the keyboard to exit the full screen mode on videos, slideshows in PowerPoint to return back.
